How do you get one of our delicious meals?

You can discuss your needs with our staff (phone 9601-3728) or contact My Aged Care on 1800-200-422 or at www.myagedcare.gov.au and ask for a referral to our service.

Our meals leave our premises at 10.30am Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) and the Volunteer generally reaches your home within 90 minutes.  

We offer chilled or frozen meals during the week and frozen meals for the weekend or for public holidays.   Frozen meals need to be stored in the freezer and should be defrosted in the refrigerator 12 to 24 hours being eating    

Remember we can cater for people who are vegetarian, diabetic, gluten free, have chewing or swallowing difficulties (pureed, soft, chopped, minced etc.), or who need low carbohydrate and protein diets.   We can also provide culturally specific meals.

Am I eligible for the service?

If you are a frail older person or their carer and live in the Liverpool Local Government Area we can assist you to maximise your independence under the Commonwealth Home Support Program - you are welcome to use our service on a short or long term basis - just ring and check with us.

If you do not fit this criteria but would like to receive meals please call us to see if we are able to help you.

Costs

We are a not for profit organisation so meals are charged at cost - current prices can be obtained from the office.

We offer a range of payment options - our preferred option is either via the Centrelink “Centrepay” system, or Internet Transfer using our BPay facility.  You may also make an over-the-counter deposit at a Westpac branch or send us a cheque or money order. We do not collect payments via direct debit or credit card.  Special arrangements for other methods of payment may be organised through our office.    When payment is made you will be issued with a receipt or monthly statement of your account.

Safe Handling of Food

Liverpool Meals on Wheels is a “Registered Food Business” and as such is inspected annually by the NSW Food Authority to ensure compliance with Food Handling Regulations
